Tips for Setting Your Sustainability Goal | Marck Recycling | Marck Recycling
For all companies, a focus on sustainability is important. But like all worthy undertakings, it doesn’t happen overnight. Between complying with government regulations, following along with existing corporate initiatives, and coming up with new plans to reduce waste, there’s a lot to think about. Fortunately, we’re here to help.
At Marck Recycling, we help you set and reach your sustainability goals. Through our Monthly Sustainability Report and Quarterly Green Grade, we track and report your progress to help you see how you’re doing and in what direction you’re headed.
Here are some other tips on setting sustainability goals that work for you:
- Make sure the goals are measurable and attainable. This means using realistic numbers for benchmarks instead of vague and lofty goals that are confusing and achievable.
- Set the bar high enough to make a real difference. While it’s important the goals are attainable, they also need to be worth the time and effort.
- Prioritize the goals that can make the most meaningful impact. For example, working to reduce overall energy consumption by 10% may be higher on the priority list than general awareness campaigns.
- Keep the list short at first. Focus on a few concise and meaningful goals to start then expand once you see progress in those areas. If your goals are simple, they’re easier to remember and seem more attainable.
